People Think Meghan Markle Is a Robot in This Video and I'm Officially Done with the Internet

There's a very simple answer to all of this confusion.

Today in absurd celebrity conspiracy theories, the internet now believes Meghan Markle is a robot. (Yes, really.) Let's state the obvious: the Duchess of Sussex is, in fact, a living and breathing human being. But one clip has the web convinced otherwise. Let's break this down, shall we?

The frenzy involves this footage of "Meghan Markle," at the Britain's Got Talent finale, where her face doesn't move.

A clip circulating the internet shows Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sitting in the audience and applauding, but their faces aren't moving—not even blinking—at all.
Although the scene is from the Britain's Got Talent finale last week, the footage has recently resurfaced to to haunt us all.

The internet seriously freaked out over the video.

The responses on Twitter said it all:

But we can all calm down—it was just her wax figure.

The creepy royal cameo was actually a stunt to promote the the new Live Figures exhibit at Madame Tussauds London, where guests can view and interact with the royals' wax clones much more up-close then usual, the company revealed on its official website. (Madame Tussauds debuted the couple's official statues just days ahead of the royal wedding last month.)
It appears the "Harry and Meghan" in the viral video were just two audience members wearing masks of the royals' faces. Madame Tussauds shared a similar promotional video on its website where two people wear masks of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the similarities to their IRL counterparts are uncanny.

A spokesperson from the museum explained the stunt to The Express earlier this month: “In a world’s first for Madame Tussauds London, we are launching Live Figures, an exciting new step in the famous fun experience we offer our guests."
"We have chosen Their Royal Likenesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for this new innovation," the rep added. "Britain’s Got Talent is the perfect moment to show the public a first glimpse of our Live Figures before they make their official arrival in the attraction later this month."

So, there you have it. Meghan Markle is not a robot. (Duh.)
