John Stamos Gets Emotional Over First-Ever Father’s Day: “That’s All I Ever Wanted”
“Full House’s” favorite uncle John Stamos has had three months to get used to the fact that he is now a daddy following the birth of his son William “Billy” Christopher back in April. Yet, on Sunday (June 17,) the fact that he really is a father from now and forevermore seemed to hit him yet again.
“My first Father’s Day means that I don’t have to hand a kid back to the parents when someone yells cut,” wrote Stamos in an Instagram post alongside a picture of him and his adorable son. “It means when people ask me if I’m a father, I don’t have to use the goofy line, “No, but I play one on TV” My first Father’s Day means that from this day forward— I will start to look my age (and older) Most importantly, it means that for the rest of my life, I’ll always be known as someone’s dad. And that’s all I ever wanted.”
Indeed, the 54-year-old actor seems to have been on cloud nine since he and wife Caitlin McHugh welcomed their baby boy into the world.
“It’s been beautiful,” he said in a recent interview with People. “Every second you pray that you can keep the kid alive. Every day is different, time has become very elusive, stuff just goes by so fast. It’s just beautiful. I’ve cried most days. I just stare at him.”
