18 June – British European Airways Hawker Siddeley Trident 1C G-ARPI entered a deep stall shortly after take-off from London Heathrow Airport and crashed near Staines, Middlesex, killing all 118 people on board. As of 2018, this remains the deadliest accident involving a civil aircraft in the United Kingdom.
