Swarm Of Earthquakes Strike Off Los Angeles Coast
A series of quakes off the coast of the Channel Islands rattled LA area residents out of bed Tuesday morning.

PASADENA, CA — A series of three small quakes struck off the coast of the Channel Islands Tuesday, shaking people out of bed across the Los Angeles region Tuesday morning. The swarm, which started just before 4:30 a.m. included three quakes ranging in size from magnitude 2.8 to 3.4
The first of the three quakes struck at 4:22 a.m. about 37 miles south of Avalon,the U.S. Geological Survey reported.. The temblor was a magnitude-3.7 , and it occured right at sea level. The second quake came moments later at 4:53 a.m. with a magnitude of 3.5. The epicenter was 36 miles south of Avalon at a depth of less than two miles. The last quake came at 5:53 a.m. at a depth of almost 5 miles, its epicenter 39 miles south of Avalon.
All three quake reports were computer-generated.
No damages or injuries were reported.
