    Nicaragua earthquake: A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit the northern shore of Nicaragua's Lake Managua. A 5.1-magnitude aftershock hit the lake's southern shore half an hour later.

    A magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit western Nicaragua on Thursday afternoon. Shortly afterward, a magnitude 5.1 aftershock hit about 20 miles south.
