Cops Search Landfill for Evidence of Missing Mom Heidi Planck: LAPD

Authorities in Los Angeles are searching a landfill for clues to a missing mom. Heidi Planck, 39, was last seen Oct. 17 at a Downtown apartment complex, according to the LAPD. Investigators say forensic evidence from inside the building has led them to believe an incident occurred which caused her death and further investigation led them to search for evidence in the Chiquita Canyon Landfill.     Rihanna can add another title to her list of honors after being named a "national hero" of Barbados.

    The "Love on the Brain" singer was lauded Tuesday as part of a presidential inauguration that doubled as a ceremony marking the country becoming a republic. The Caribbean island nation severed ties with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state, replacing her with its first president, Sandra Mason, as a symbolic figure behind Prime Minister Mia Mottley.

    "On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even prouder people, we therefore present to you the designee for national hero of Barbados, Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty," Mottley said as the performer took to the stage.

    "May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to your nation by your words, by your actions, and to do credit wherever you shall go,"" Mottley said, making a reference to the entertainer's 2012 hit "Diamonds."

    It's not the first time that the 33-year-old Grammy Award winner has been recognized by the country where she was born and raised. In 2018, she was appointed "Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary" of Barbados.

    The Tuesday ceremony, attended by Prince Charles, marked Barbados cutting its final ties to its British colonial past.

    "From the darkest days of our past and the appalling atrocity of slavery, which forever stains our history, the people of this island forged their path with extraordinary fortitude," Charles said in remarks at the event.

    "Freedom, justice, and self determination have been your guides," he said.
