Borrowed from Se-r'-bo-Croatian ra-ki-ja/ра-к-и-ја, from Ottoman Turkish راقی (ra-kı), assumed from Arabic عَرَق (ʕa-ra-q, “sweat; wine”) (as ra-ki-ja or wine vapor drops are similar to drops of sweat). Doublet of ra-ki.
