Fox's Wallace: Other than White House chaos, it's 'puppies and unicorns' in DC

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace on Friday rattled off a long list of controversies and challenges facing President Trump, quipping, "other than that, it's sweetness, light, puppies and unicorns here in D.C."
The "Fox News Sunday" host appeared on Shepard Smith's show Friday afternoon to weigh in on various issues facing the Trump White House, including the resignation of communications director Hope Hicks, tension with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the possible ouster of first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, both senior advisers.
"Let's go through it. Hope Hicks has quit, the person closest to the president among his White House staff," Wallace began. "The president hates his attorney general. The deputy attorney general is defending the attorney general from the attack from the president."
"Gary Cohn, the national economic adviser, is threatening to quit because of the fact that the president announced these tariffs over his objection," he continued. "The president reportedly wants to oust his national security adviser."

"Somebody is trying to get Jared Kushner. There's a report in The New York Times today the president is telling Kushner that he's sorry he's taken all these slings and arrows while he's supposedly at the same time saying to John Kelly 'help me get Kushner and Ivanka out of here,' " Wallace noted.
"Other than that, it's sweetness, light, puppies and unicorns here in D.C."

The White House has pushed back on the characterization of an administration in chaos, with press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders citing successes since president took office despite numerous resignations and palace intrigue stories becoming an almost daily theme in the press.
"The bottom line is if this is chaos, I think the American people are glad for it because we just passed the biggest tax cuts in history," Sanders told reporters Friday.

"[The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria] is on the run. We're rebuilding our military. We're rebuilding the judiciary - remaking what that looks like. The economy is strong. We have a lot of positive things happening within this country, and that's happening under the direction and the leadership of President Trump, and we're going to continue to big and great things over the next year under his leadership," she continued.
"If they want to call it 'chaos,' fine. But we call it success and productivity, and we're going to keep plugging along."
The president is spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and is playing golf Saturday morning following the dramatic week in Washington.
