■In the Bible, Lazarus is in Abraham's bosom after death, while the rich man is in torment in Hades:

• Lazarus

  The beggar Lazarus dies and is carried by angels to Abraham's bosom.
• Rich man

  The rich man dies and is buried, but in Hades he is tormented and sees Lazarus in Abraham's bosom. The rich man calls out to Abraham, asking him to send Lazarus to cool his tongue.
Abraham
Abraham replies that the rich man received good things in life, while Lazarus received bad things, but now Lazarus is comforted and the rich man is tormented. Abraham also says that a great chasm has been fixed between them, so that those who want to pass from one side to the other cannot.
The rich man's request
The rich man asks Abraham to send Lazarus to his family to warn his five brothers so they will not also come to torment. Abraham replies that they have Moses and the Prophets, and that if they do not hear them, they will not be convinced if someone rises from the dead. 
 

The parable of Lazarus and the rich man is a warning about the dangers of living a life driven by greed and a lack of love for others.
