Middleton has kept a low profile since the allegations were revealed.
Pippa Middleton has kept a low profile since her father-in-law David Matthews wasaccused of allegedly raping a minor. Today, she was spotted out in London for the first time since news of the scandal broke.
Last week, Matthews was questioned by French police and placed under formal investigation over the alleged assault, according to The Telegraph. "I confirm that David M was placed in police custody on 27 March at the Brigade for the Protection of Minors," a judicial official told the outlet. The alleged incident reportedly took place between 1998 and 1999, and was reported to police in 2017, according to The Sun.
Matthews strenuously denies the allegations and has reportedly called them "untrue and scandalous." The former racing driver turned businessman is best known for owning the luxury Eden Rock Hotel in St. Barths. Middleton married David's son James Matthews in a lavish wedding last May, with the Duke of Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte in attendance.
Middleton wore a gray coat, dark jeans, sunglasses, and a pair of booties for the outing. She was spotted riding her bike around London, and was later seen locking up her bike before taking off on foot:
Middleton, who has largely remained out of the spotlight since her wedding, has not commented on the allegations. The Royal Family, which represents the Duchess of Cambridge, has also not spoken out on the matter, the Telegraph reports.
