5-magnitude earthquake hits Davao Oriental

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental town Thursday morning, November 30, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
So far, the Southern Mindanao Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported no damage or injury as the Provincial Disaster Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) in Davao Oriental continues to assess on the ground the situation in affected areas.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor was registered at 9:16 a.m. with the epicenter plotted 46 kms. southeast of Caraga, Davao Oriental province.
The tremor had a depth of 23 kms. and was tectonic in origin. Phivolcs warns the public in the affected area to expect aftershocks.
Intensity III was recorded in Bislig City in Surigao Del Sur, Phivolcs said. The Bislig City and Surigao del Sur DRRMCs also reported no damage or injury.
