WOW AIRLINES ENDS SERVICES FROM CLEVELAND HOPKINS AIRPORT
WOW is no more in Cleveland.
CLEVELAND -- Just over a year after WOW added services to Cleveland, the airline is now pulling out.
WOW Airlines on Tuesday announced termination of its nonstop flights from Cleveland to Iceland. The last flight will be Oct. 26, according to an airport spokesperson.
The airline cited lower yields than expected, though it met its load factor goals from Cleveland.
“The Cleveland market responded well to the low-cost airfares WOW air provided” Director Robert Kennedy said in an emailed statement. “While we are disappointed with the discontinuation of their service, the strong demand response to WOW air and Icelandair’s launch proves that there is a growing demand for trans-atlantic service from Cleveland.”
Icelandair will resume its services from Cleveland next year.
